#44: Vermicelli with pork, shrimp and eggroll
My fiancé ordered pho ga and I ordered this, the equivalent to my standard order at Pho Vietnam, the #77 (click to compare). The portion may have been a little smaller—but the pork was more tender and as you can see, the mint was fresher. I prefer the atmosphere and the service at Pho Vietnam, but Pho Saigon wins in a head-to-head vermicelli battle.

The weather’s finally starting to get cool, which for me always signals soup season. Nothing on earth beats a bowl of pho or some hot and sour soup on a cold day (even though they’re just as tasty when it’s 100° outside). Here is some chicken pho (#160 on the menu!) from Saigon Le in Memphis.
